Something weird is happening.....

OK, I have a computer question, normally I thought I was pretty smart when it came to computers but this one takes the cake for me.....

My internet connection has been down since around halftime of the Bears game.... I couldn't connect with my laptop or my other PC just completely dead. I reset my DSL modem and it worked fine for about 5 minutes and bam, quit again.... Now my PC shuts down automatically everytime I try to boot it up..... Thats not the weird part.... I just disconnected my DSL modem and my Router completely and even unplugged it...... Now my wireless internet connection with my laptop is working with my modem and router unplugged.....

How is this possible? I am not connected to anyone else's line, I checked my connection and it says it is connected to my network...... Something weird is happening and I don't know why, does anyone have a clue. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Dude someone may have gotten onto your network and done some damage.

The only explanation I have for you connecting without your equipment hooked up is, you must have been on someone elses network. Maybe two conflicting networks or something of that nature caused the whole problem.

Well i have had a problem with my Dsl and router. When the router is hooked up then my computer wont connect to the internet but my brothers laptop works. Sometimes it will connect and disconnect me every minute or 2. Has anyone else had this problem???

I still says I am connected to my network. I pulled up my wireless connection and there are 3 signals with two of them being locked it says and I can't access those. So I am still online I just don't know what is going on. I have been having some problems the last day or so.

Yes we can do anything on the laptop but it gets disconnected every 20-30 minutes....and sometimes it wont let us back online for a few hours.

Yep... I was on it for like 2 or 3 hours last night after I unplugged everything. The only thing I can think of is someone has my exact same router with the same call name for it and I am using theirs. Heck I don't know. I will keep using it until it goes out again.
